Sony on Monday announced its latest PS4 entertainment app: Media Player. Media Player for the PS4 allows PS4 users to play media content from many different type of formats and codecs. The app can play media directly from your home server via DLNA or from a USB stick when plugged in one of the front USB port of the console. Within the Media Player app, you will have a list of all home server or media USB connected to the console. These are the codecs and formats the app can play:

Media Player for the PS4 is avialable in the PlayStation Store for free. After you download the app, a Media Player icon should appear in the PS4 content area.
